![]() Jaethal and my MC bounce off of eachother in combat a lot. Undeath Domain will eventually allow my Tiefling to heal from Negative Energy, so I'm doubling down on it, and making it a major party focus. I've got the Undead Domain, which makes him a very effective healer when used in conjunction with Jaethal, who I run as an inquisitor with a 1 level dip in Crusader to pick up Channeling Scourge, followed by Holy Vindicator when the prestige class is unlocked. I'm hyped for every levelup because it will give me something cool, Cruelty dice, spells, feats, more smites, more bond, every level has something really cool. My current playthrough is on an Unholy Minion/Tyrant right now. Smite Law and Smite Nature are both individually stronger than Smite Good or Smite Evil, as Kingmaker is mostly a Chaos+Nature campaign, not really a Good vs Evil one. Imbue was not in the tabletop game, and is a CoTW feature, but it is a good one. Instead of being able to cast on yourself as a bonus action, you can instead Imbue your Cruelty into your weapon at the cost of 2 charges. Instead of Mercies, status healing and positive energy healing, you get Cruelties, status debuffs and negative energy damage. ![]() You still get the Paladin's bonus saves from Charisma, you still get a Smite (Good, Nature, or Chaos, based on Archtype), you still get 1/3 casting, you still have the same hit die and BAB, but a lot of features are flipped in function. It's a lot like Paladin, but in every way that Paladin is defensive and supportive, you are offensive. So many possibilities.Īntipaladin is great. combine Spell Perfection Blade Barrier with something like Maximize Metamagic and Empower Mimic Metamagic. Add in Toppling Metamagic and/or Mimic Metamagic for more options, and to really get crazy. You'll have Magic Missile, Battering Blast, Burst of Force, Blade Barrier, and Telekinetic Storm. They can be like a Mystic Theurge, but without falling behind in caster level.įorce damage is a great way to go with the Psychic, too. The Psychic spell list is incredible to begin with, but cherry picking the best Druid spells to add on to that is even better. My favorite by far is the Magaambyan Telepath. I think it's one of the best classes in the game, and one of the best classes for Unfair. ![]() Alchemist bombs, Scorching Rays, Fire Kineticists, etc.īut Psychic is ridiculous. You add Fire vulnerability with no save, and many others can take advantage of that. Or anything that gets the Flame Curse Hex (Spirit Whisperer Wizard, Spirit Guide Oracle, Shaman). Rime Metamagic + Ice Storm is great for slowing large groups with no save, and it's even better when Ice Storm is originally a level 3 spell instead of level 4. I did a "Lich Witch" build with this and a Winter Patron and that was really fun. You can increase the power every level if you want once you get it (through your Hexes and through your Feats if you take Extra Hex). ![]() ![]() Or Hex Channeler Witch with Negative Energy Channeling. They work better in turn based, where you can better manage their abilities. They can fire off a lot of arrows every round, and can still be a tank/offtank. I'm a fan of an arcane-based Hinterlander, partly to cast Burst of Force and Caustic Eruption at range. ![]()
